Transfering domain name from GoDaddy

Tranfering a domain name sometimes might seem tricky, but it's actually not!  Every domain registrar will provide you with information on transfering your domain, but we decided to make it a little bit easier.

In this tutorial we will go over how to transfer your domain from GoDaddy to Host Tornado.

You can see full GoDaddy instructions here: http://help.godaddy.com/article/3560

First, login to your GoDaddy account, and go to your Domain Manager (http://dcc.godaddy.com)

If you see a highlighted lock next to your domain that means it is locked, you must unlock the domain to transfer it out.  Click on the lock and when a new window pops up unselect Lock Domains.

After you do that you will want to click on the domain itself and it will bring you to another page.  On the far left under "Domain Information" at the bottom it should say "Authorization Code" and to the right of that it should say "Send by Email"

GoDaddy instructions for obtaining authorization code: http://help.godaddy.com/article/1685

Click on send by email and this will email the authorization code to the administrator email you have on file with GoDaddy.

Once you receive that authorization code from GoDaddy, you can either enter it when you first iniate the transfer on our website or you can email it to us at support@hostt.net.

Domain transfers take anywhere from 5-15 business days, ususally a lot less.  Your domain will still remain active.  If you have any issues at all do not hesitate to contact us for more help.
